One of the best possible swinger vacations in the world is a trip to Desire Resorts. There are very few places anywhere in the world that combine luxury & swinger sexiness like the two Desire resorts outside of Cancun, Mexico. Unfortunately, these resorts also cost a good pile of money. If you are like almost every other new swinger, you wonder which Desire resort is better for your swinger vacation. Sit back and let us overanalyze this fun problem to have.
Location
They are both about a 15 to 20-minute drive from the Cancun airport to the resort lobby. Both resorts are oceanfront though Desire Pearl has a boat deck which Desire RM doesn’t have.
Resort Size
Desire RM has 114 rooms, and Desire Pearl has 88 rooms. They share roughly the same acreage amount, so Desire Pearl has a more intimate feeling with 26 fewer rooms. Desire RM with 26 more rooms tends to have more guests, which usually translates to more party energy & sexy action happening.
Rooms
Desire Pearl has fewer rooms, enabling all rooms to be ocean view rooms and a bit bigger inside. Pearl also has nicer finishing touches in the rooms. Desire RM has some garden view rooms, which makes them more affordable. Desire RM also has the Desire Suites, which are two-story luxury suites with a private pool plus the Desire Mansion. The Mansion 0ffers uber-luxury in an intimate environment.
Entertainment
They both have a good entertainment staff, the same theme parties, the same foam pool party, and the same guest bands. They just alternate days so the same fun experiences can be at both resorts. If you love the foam party, you can do it for two days (Fridays at RM & Saturdays at Pearl). Desire RM starts their entertainment at 10 am, and Pearl starts at noon.
Pool & Hot Tub
Desire Pearl has a bigger and better pool. Desire RM still has a nice pool with a swim-up bar, but Pearl’s is nicer. Both resorts offer a unique sexy experience with their clothing-optional massive hot tubs. Desire RM is rooftop, so you have better views. Desire Pearl has a bigger hot tub with a more intimate design allowing different groups to have a more private experience than RM. Walking down the wet stairs from the rooftop hot tub at Desire RM is not the most fun experience.
Night Club
Desire RM has more rooms which means more guests, which means more people on the dance floor. They play the same music. The nighttime party tends to end sooner at Pearl since fewer people and often much fewer younger people. No one likes to dance alone, so the crowd at Pearl often disperses earlier than RM.
Sex Playroom
Desire RM has plenty of space in their larger sex playroom, and with more guests, Desire RM has more swingers. There are often a few voyeurs popping in to enjoy the sexy sights. Desire Pearl has a more intimate space with less voyeur action happening. Most of the sex at both resorts takes place outside of the Sin room. Sexy shenanigans are common around the hot tub area, and many people like to bring their new friends back to their hotel room for private sexy shenanigans.
Late Night Snack Bar
Desire RM has the outdoor mini kitchen connected to their outdoor bar. They serve up pizza, tacos & sandwiches at the late-night bar. Pearl’s indoor lobby snack bar is less impressive with this smaller indoor snack bar. Pearls’ bar has you sit facing a wall, and it is not really optimal for interacting with people.
Service
They both have about the same amount of staff which means the service at Pearl is usually a little bit better since it has fewer guestrooms. Guests will develop favorites with different staff members. Different people will claim different resorts have better service because they personally like the personalities of certain workers. At both resorts, workers regularly go the extra mile.
Guests
The age range is usually a bit wider at Desire RM since it has more affordable garden view rooms and more guest rooms. Desire RM is more likely to have some 30-year-olds with most guests in their 40s or 50s. Desire Pearl tends to skew a little older than RM since all the rooms are the more expensive ocean view rooms. Of course, this is not 100% guaranteed. It all depends on who shows up that week which can be heavily influenced if there are any group bookings.
Food
Desire RM has more guests than Pearl, so it offers more variety. It has an extra restaurant, and the buffet tends to have more options, not to mention the better late-night snack options.
Gym
Desire Pearl has a larger gym with more workout options. You can get in a good workout at either resort, but Pearl is the preferred spot for gym lovers.
Beach
They both have soft, white sandy beaches. Neither of them are massive, but they both extend the entire length of the property. They both have seaweed that washes up and is cleaned up every day. Pearl has a bit more nature closer to the water and their private dock with the catamaran. RM has nicer beach beds and a beachside bar.
Decision Time
Both resorts are great options, and we are nitpicking between the small differences they have. If you can’t decide, go with Desire RM for your trip because it is a little bigger and has more options. While at RM, get a day pass to Desire Pearl so you can sample it for one day and figure out which resort best matches your own personal preferences. Let’s not forget there are many other swinger friendly resorts. You might find that you prefer Hedonism or another swinger resort over Desire, but that debate is for another article.
