Swing Lifestyle aka SLS – One of the biggest swinger dating sites in the USA but has struggled to stay up to date &, more recently, has been a bit glitchy. Many members paid for a lifetime membership, so even though the user experience is sliding in the wrong direction, they stick with the site.
SLS is one of the biggest USA swinger sites and offers free & paid accounts (aka “Paid Members“). It is simple & easy to use. It covers all the basics and is trying to add new features.
It is one of the biggest swinger sites in the world. It has a massive directory of swinger clubs & an active forum. The site might not be cutting-edge technology, but it is easy to overlook that with its massive userbase. Considering its relatively affordable lifetime membership offer, longtime members have enjoyed one of the best lifestyle bargains.
The SLS web design is very dated and comes up short with other top-tier swinger sites. It offers most of the same features, but the features tend to be clunkier than the competition. The search function works but is lacking the advanced filters on some of the other sites.
SLS is notorious for not auto-updating the ages on member profiles. To quote Matthew McConaughey from the Dazed & Confused movie, “I get older, they stay the same age.” Don’t be surprised if ages are off by 5 or 10 years. A good tip is to look at the “Member since” date for help figuring out if the profile age is accurate or not.
Recently it has been suffering from glitches and frequent downtime. A swinger site isn’t handy if you can’t log into it. They also have added a big red banner warning members not to share billing information but haven’t fully explained why they added the warning.
SLS has a very active forum. It is one of the biggest swinger forums. The calendar of parties & events is also one of the most robust on any lifestyle site due to its massive userbase.
SLS is the baseline that other swinger sites are compared with. It hasn’t been doing the best job keeping up the latest tech, but it has one of the largest user bases for any swinger site, so people put up with it. If SLS is popular in your area (and that is like half of the USA), then you should join SLS (but only go with the month-to-month option) for the best chance of finding swingers.
That being said, the issues at SLS are leading many members to finally look elsewhere. We don’t yet know who will be the new leader or if SLS will recover its prominence. Kasidie is very affordable in most of the SLS area due to their sliding price scale & SDC already has a decent foothold in the big cities. Due to the uncertainty with the ongoing issues, we give SLS a B+/F rating.
Free vs. Paid
SLS used to provide a limited but workable free version, but the free version is now useless. You can browse other profiles, but you can’t communicate with them in any way, even if a paid member wants to contact you. If you mention your Gmail, Kik, or any other way to connect, they will ban your account. You need to upgrade to a paid membership to communicate with other swingers on the site.
SLS is the least expensive swinger site for its size (SDC & Kasidie both cost more). It offers a good deal with its lifetime package, but we can’t currently recommend it due to ongoing reliability issues.
1 month is $19.95
3 months is $69.95
Lifetime is $149.95
SLS Discounts & Promo Codes
The best deal is to sign up for the lifetime billing, which will save you money by your eighth month compared to the monthly billing price. However, due to the current struggles with SLS, it would be prudent to go with a month-to-month till SLS can show they can operate glitch-free. They do not currently have any promo codes.
How to Use SLS
For the best chances of a connection, fill out your profile as completely as possible. Be careful not to mention any outside communication or social media like KIK or Gmail in your profile. They are very sensitive about that. Putting in a good effort when building your profile will really help you. The more you share, the easier it is for other people to flirt with you & discover mutual interests. Here are tips for writing better dating profiles.
In the “Tools” section, try to upload at least 5 current photos & include your partner in them. You can put your face pictures & naughty pictures in a private “Gallery.” Spend time writing a good tagline, describing yourself, what you are seeking, your fantasies, and for additional information post a fun question to give other members something to talk about when they contact you.
You can set your profile not to display to free members, but since free members can’t message you, there isn’t much benefit. You can also set your profile to not display for single men, which many couples who are only interested in other couples find a helpful feature. You can also opt-in or out of the “Who Viewed Me” feature. If you opt-out, other people won’t see you visited their profile, but you also won’t know who visited your profile.
SLS has recently launched a “Wall” feature where paid members can share their thoughts with their friends (similar to Facebook) but not too many members seem to be using this feature yet.
SLS allows you to “Favorite” profiles to more easily go back to members that you find interesting. When you do find a profile that is interesting enough for you, you can use their “Message” feature to contact them and grant them access to your private photo gallery.
If you want a local meetup, post a “Hot Date.” or browse the other couples that have already posted a hot date. The calendar of swinger events & hot dates on SLS is very active and a good way to meet people.
When you meet other swingers, ask them to submit a “Certification” (aka verification/validation) for you. This helps other members know you are real & that you have met another validated member. Many veteran swingers will filter out non-certified members for extra precaution.
